When I was just getting started in data analytics, I didn’t feel ready.

I didn’t have a formal data degree. I wasn’t a “numbers guy.” And half the time, I was faking confidence in meetings while quietly Googling functions I barely understood.

But I was hungry to learn. I just didn’t know where to start.

So I did what most people do when they’re trying to get ahead:

• I said yes to every analytics project (even when I had no idea how I’d pull it off)
• I duct-taped Excel reports together and hoped no one noticed the formula errors
• I tried to sound confident when presenting dashboards I didn’t totally trust

It wasn’t pretty. But I kept going.

The Turning Point

What finally clicked wasn’t a certification or a textbook.

It was solving real problems. One messy, confusing, high-stakes business challenge at a time. Learning just enough SQL to answer a VP’s urgent questions about CRM adoption and sales pipelines. Building just enough Tableau skill to get some quick answers and build a dashboard that worked. Finding just enough Python to automate painful (and time consuming!) manual reporting projects.

That “just enough” approach changed everything.

I didn’t need to become a full-stack data scientist…trust me, I tried that! I needed to become the person people trusted to figure things out.

And becoming a more confident data professional was the ticket.

Fast Forward to Today

Now, I lead a 30+ person data team at a Fortune 100 company. I manage a $3.5M analytics portfolio. I work directly with senior executives to shape enterprise strategy, and I help steer major data platform decisions.

But more importantly: I’ve helped dozens of people grow from data-dependent to data-confident. Whether they were brand new to analytics or trying to break through to the next level.

Why I Started NewPrediction

I built NewPrediction because I kept hearing the same things from smart, capable professionals:
